氷筍（ひょうじゅん）とは洞窟に発生する逆さの氷柱のことです。上から滴り落ちた雫が瞬時に凍りついたもので、タケノコ（筍）のような形状をしていることからこの名で呼ばれています。
風穴では、２月ごろから雪解け水により地下に浸透した水により氷筍ができます。見られるのは、３月末ごろまで！写真愛好家など撮影のスポットとして認知し始めています。
